KnifeMakersDatabase.com would like you to take a moment to welcome our newest knifemaker to become a part of our growing site, Larry Downing from Kentucky.  Mr. Downing is a long-time knifemaker whose skills at this craft and eye for detail have been honed to a razors edge.  He currently makes knives on a part time basis. This combination makes his knives highly desirable among colectors and enthusiasts alike.

When a Downing knife is crafted, it recieves the makers complete attention until complete.  This is to say that Mr. Downing doesn't lay out 20 blanks and starts slapping handles on them.... no, no... Every Downing knife is a one of a kind masterpiece.  Aside from his highly collectible knives, Mr5. Downing makes incredible fighting / combat knives as well, many of which are being used by our soldiers in the field at present.  These are men and women who are trusting their lives to a blade at times, and for this, they've chosen a Downing.  That to me speaks volumes.

Back to the collectible side of things, let's have a look at this "Single Action Bowie Model."  Of course at first look you'll most likely say, "What an awesome knife!" As did I... But there is more to this piece than first meets the eys.

This is a knife based on the knife and gun set, made / engraved by Larry Downing, for the 2006 Colt Collectors Association Auction in Louisville.  The set, a colt pistol and matching knife just like this one, sold for a record breaking
$120,000.00!!  Nope, that's no typo.  Now of course, there is no gun to match this set, but if you look at what the set went for and the fact that this knife represents about say 40 - 30% of the deal where the gun represents the rest at that auction, that would mean that a Downing Colt Bowie, just like the one we have here, has a potential auction value of up to $40,000.00.  Of course this is not the recognized value of this piece.  It is just to say that a knife like this one did in fact sell for that much - and without any trouble at all. See the web address below for details!

So now is your chance to own a Single Action Colt Bowie by Larry Downing in full Damascus (Original Billet by Devin Thomas), for a price that, well, you guys are LUCKY.  These are Mr Downing's gracious prices, not mine!  If you look at the market for a knife like this today - and then compare the history of a knife like this to one on the market today... Well, what would you pay?  Take a guess and then check the price below... I guarentee it's lower than what you said!

This is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece at an unheard of price.  It's a one time offer and the chance you've been waiting for, so don't pass it up! I know this beauty wont be here long.  But don't worry!  If you miss it, you can still see her in our galleries and shed a tear for the one you passed up!
