This is another knife by ABS Journeyman Smith, Rusty Polk. This knife is a wonderful example of Rusty's neverending creativity.
The blade of this skinner is made of ATS-34 steel, great for corrosion resistance and it's ability to take a keen mirror finnish due to it's chromium content. The blade has been hollow ground. The edge (as all of Rusty's knives) is hair shaving sharp. (Rusty's also won several cutting competitions) The knife is full tang construction and the tang is tapered toward the end for both a sharp, flowing look and lightness / proper balance (also dead-on). Now comes the fun part!
The handle is composed of 12 stacked layers of PC motherboard and blue spacers held together by 2 large pins. The layers of PC board have been cut in a way so that each is completely lined around the edge by the copper circuit wire withing, giving a super high-tech look to the entire edge of the handle and the appearance that the blue spacers and board layers are also seperated by copper ones! The circuitry in the handle, esspecially around the rear pin is simply awesome. The sheath, also inlaid with PC board is a really nice touch.
Never done before, this knife is a collector's dream and a super investment
