Hand forged from 1" square 5160 carbon steel by bladesmith, Karl Andersen of Andersen Forge, this is truly a special piece. The knife is a fighter / bowie with an 8" super sharp blade constructed in a rarely seen take down configuration.
The handle is carved from a premium piece of Bird's Eye Maple and swells just right to fit the sweet spot in your hand. A super comfortable knife to hold and work with. The guard, buttcap and all the fittings are hot-blued steel, file-worked to perfection. The "shotgun checkering" pattern file worked by hand all around the spacer right under the guard is a really nice touch. The hot-bluing is gorgeous, making the steel look more like black glass, all matching wonderfully with the rich maple. Finally, the take down wrench itself and the snap on the sheath have been hot blued to match for a finishing touch.
This knife is beautifully balanced, both aesthetically and performance wise. To complete the package, the knife comes with a hand made, heavy leather sheath
and a Cordura zipper case stitched with the Andersen Forge Logo!
