Pro-tech's automatic knife dubbed the "Godfather" was perhaps one of the most
popular and sought after production knives of its time.
Pro-tech made dozens of models and variations in handle material, blade finish
frame style, etc. - but they also made a few customized versions as well.
These customized versions, such as the Abalone Pearl model featured here, are
by far the most desirable of the lot among collectors and enthusiasts while
other more straight-foward, more affordable models are still among the most popular choices for those who just want a great switchblade at their disposable.
The Pro-Tech "Godfather" we have here has been customized in several ways.
The scales, usually G-10 or Micarta, are select Abalone Pearl. The blade has
been hand-rubbed to a satin finish, bringing out the subtle pattern in the
154-cm steel used for the blade.
To make things even better, this Godfather is from the first-production run -
one of the first models produced back in 2001 - and is marked
"First Production Run - S/N #432.
